How to set up your Google Business Profile

I think you are here, because you thought it might have been relatively easy to set up your free Google Business Profile.  However, you do need this along with your socials.  More platforms, more eyes on your content is the best way of looking at it.  Also, you can ask your customers for Google Reviews.

Google Business Profile

Below are steps to help you get started.

On your desktop computer, sign in to your Google Account, or create one.
NOTE: If you are creating a new Google Account, sign up with your business email not your personal email.
Create the Google Business Profile by firstly entering the name of your business.
If you get a message that someone else has already verified the business, request ownership of the Business Profile.
Search for your business category.  (If you are unsure, check with other businesses similar to yours) and then click Next
You will need to choose if your business has a location your customer visits.  If you have a storefront, it would be highly advisable to click Yes and enter business address, then click next.  If you don't have a shopfront or don't want people to know where you are located, click No.
Enter the service area of your business.  You can add up to 20 different service areas either by suburb or postcode.  Try to keep your service are within a 20-200km radius max.  Otherwise you could get lost in the searches when your customer is local to you.
Next is to enter your business phone number and your website URL if you have one, then click Next.
NOTE: You also have the option to create a website if you don't already have one.  But I would advise on searching for the right website to suit your business as there are so many out there.

   7.   Then click Finish

   8.   You now need to select a verification.

Tip: I would recommend you review all the information you have entered before you request verification.  At the top, find the red banner and click Verify now
